John D'Agostino’s passion for financial management and planning began at an early age. By the time he reached his teenage years, he was already focused on pursuing a career in finance. He continued his education at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, where he excelled both academically and athletically, competing as a Division I wrestler. John graduated with a bachelor’s degree in 2018.
While in college, John interned with Gottfried & Somberg Wealth Management, gaining valuable experience in the financial industry. After graduating, he worked at Edward Jones Investments before beginning his career with Wise Wealth, where he worked alongside his mother, Jan Wise, the firm’s president and founder. John initially specialized in student loan consolidation and focused on assisting younger clientele, helping them build a strong financial foundation.
Now a partner in the firm, John serves as the lead investment advisor and heads the firm’s investment and economic research team. He meets regularly with analysts and uses top market research tools to deliver insightful, up-to-date advice, creating personalized and diverse investment portfolios for clients. His skill and dedication have earned him recognition as a Five Star Professional Award recipient. In addition to his professional accomplishments, John plays a key role in mentoring up-and-coming advisors within the practice, helping shape the next generation of financial professionals.
John’s influence extends beyond the financial industry as well. A former Division I wrestler, John continues to give back to his community as a volunteer wrestling coach at Nonnewaug High School. He is also actively involved with local first responders and law enforcement, providing informational sessions on retirement and financial planning. Additionally, John teams up with the Naugatuck Police Department each year to raise money and participate in the annual Plane Pull for Special Olympics Connecticut.
Outside of work, John’s commitment to fitness is further highlighted by his achievements as a champion bodybuilder. Always alongside John is his girlfriend, Caitlin, and their cat, Rocco.
